iPhone app sales reporting by appFigures

New and updated features

Features & Updates View Comments

We’ve been getting a good number of feature requests lately and have rolled out an update that covers the most requested items:

1. Fiscal month selection in Profit by Region report.

A new drop down menu has been added to the report with months that correlate to Apple’s fiscal payout month. When you select a month the date range will update automatically.

Future ranges will be added when they become available from Apple.

2. Adding single event to multiple apps

You can now create a single event for one, multiple, or allapps (current and future) by selecting apps in the same way you would for an email report.

There’s a catch – you still can’t edit existing events… Don’t let it bring you down – it’s on our to do list.

3. Trend line

The main report now features an option to display the trend line of the current data. The trend will be displayed for as many apps as you select in both units and profit modes.

Feel free to make suggestions, its encouraged!

Did you know you can use a sub iTunes Connect account with appFigures?

Announcements, Misc Resources View Comments

Lately we’ve seen a lot of chatter from users who want to enable the auto importing capabilities of appFigures but are hesitant to use their main iTunes Connect username and password because it allows full access to their account.

There is a simple solution – use a sub iTunes Connect account with limited access!

It’s very simple, all you have to do is log into your iTC account and create a sub user account with access only to reports. Then link that account to your appFigures account and you’re all done.

Here’s how you create a sub iTunes account:

  1. Start by logging into your iTunes Connect account and click ‘Manage Users’
  2. Select ‘Itunes Connect Users’
  3. Click the ‘Add New User’ button (blue button – top left corner)
  4. Type in your name and email address (which will become your username)
  5. Check the ‘Finance’ role checkbox (last on the right) and click ‘Continue’
  6. Notifications are not required to make appFigures work, so click the ‘Finish’ button and you’re all set.

Keep in mind, we protect the security and privacy of your iTC credentials (and your other data as well) at all times and have many security measures in place to make sure your data remains private.

If you need more help with using sub iTC accounts feel free to contact us directly.

Incorrect report for June 18th + Video Tutorial

Announcements, News View Comments

We’ve been informed by some of our members that the daily report for June 18th 2009 is incorrect. This is due to an issue with iTunes Connect in which incorrect reports were published by Apple. Earlier today Apple has released the following statement:

Based on our records we have determined that your organization downloaded a sales report dated 06/18/09. We have identified a discrepancy in the data set that was used to create the reports. As such please delete your existing report dated 06/18/09 and please log into iTunes Connect to download an updated report with the correct data for 06/18/09. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working hard to limit/prevent these types of issues. Please note that this issue only affects the daily report for June 18, 2009. No other daily or weekly reports are affected.

To import the new report into appFigures you’ll need to remove the incorrect report from the archive and then import the report via the Upload Report or Sync with iTunes sections.

We’ve created a short video tutorial that explains how to remove the incorrect data from your account and import the new report.

Please contact us directly if you have any more questions

Updated Exchange Rates

Announcements, Misc Resources View Comments

We’ve just updated the exchange rates used to convert profits. Up until today we were using Apple’s (conservative) exchange rates but due to many general requests we decided to start using mid-range exchange rates (provided by Citi Bank via Google) for all conversions.

Keep in mind that actual profits may be different than your appFigures amounts for two main reasons:

1. Exchange rates may be slightly different at the time payment is sent to your bank.

2. There may be fees or other costs required by your bank to receive the transfer from Apple.

appFigures uses the following rates table to convert currencies: (EDIT – Added CAD rates)

USD EUR GBP AUD JPY CAD
USD 0.72228241 0.6084576 1.25628141 96.54373 1.1324
EUR 1.3845 0.8424095 1.73932161 133.6648 1.576188
GBP 1.6435 1.18707114 2.06469849 158.6696 1.83664
AUD 0.796 0.5749368 0.4843322 76.84881 0.899239
JPY 0.010358 0.0074814 0.0063024 0.01301256 0.011802
CAD 0.88308 0.63444213 0.5444725 1.11205138 84.7323

* Profits are converted when a report is generated and not when imported.

Thank you for following up on this @Matt

Now supporting non-english app names

Features & Updates View Comments

Earlier today we released an update that adds support for non-english app names. We’ve tested Japanese and Chinese but all other non-english languages should be supported as well.

Note: The update did not fix existing app names. Existing app names will be updated automatically when a new report is imported (via manual upload, sync-now, or auto import). If you would like to speed up the process you can remove your most recent report from the archive and use the sync-now function to retrieve it again. When imported it will update the names of existing apps and replace the previous ??? string.

So you want totals?

Features & Updates View Comments

You’ve asked for it (we wanted it too) so we added an option to chart totals on the daily/weekly chart for all your apps together. To see the chart select the “All Apps” box from the apps list (you’ll need to have more than one app to see this option).

We’ve also added minor UI improvements throughout the system to make app selection more responsive.

EDIT

We’ve updated the way totals work – To make the chart more flexible we added an option to “combine apps” (ie. view all selected apps in a single set). This allows viewing totals for any combination of apps and not necessarily all.

Thank you for suggesting this feature Andrew.

Ranks report has been updated

Features & Updates View Comments

The rank report received a major addition earlier today – an “All Countries” button that displays ranking from all categories and all countries in a single chart.

You’ll no longer have to check every single country. You’re welcome!

More updates and a whole new report

Features & Updates View Comments

Earlier today we released an update that adds some small UI updates and a whole new report – Profit & Downloads by date for a single country. The report is very similar to the standard date report but it works for a single country for better insight on how your app isperforming in a particular country. To see the report click the desired country from the by country report.

Also in this update are small UI improvements and (finally) combining sales, profits, and revenue labels into profits – because that’s pretty much what they are (what you do with them is all up to you…).

New features added to Sales by Date report

Features & Updates View Comments

We’ve been getting requests from members who wanted to chart sales by revenue and not unit download.  So we made the chart in the sales by date report more flexible to support switching between unit downloads and sales revenue.

While we were playing with the chart we decided to throw in a bar chart as well, so if you’re tired of that line chart you can switch to the bar chart (until you get tired of it too, and then you could switch back to the line chart. It’s a never ending circle).

And last update for the day, the apps drop down menu now scrolls. Those who have multiple applications will now have a much easier time selecting apps.

Enjoy these updates, more are surely to come.
